Mike Smithson: Associate Producer/ Makeup Department Head / Makeup & Effects Designer for Under Surveillance.
Chicago born, Mike Smithson eventually headed as far west as one can possibly go without surfing and landed in Los Angeles, 1984. Always wanting to join the circus, Mike did the next best thing… he found work in Hollywood. His first job was in a special makeup effects lab, working for industry veteran, Tom Burman. The first movie stage Mike would set foot on was a Michael Jackson, George Lucas project called "Captain Eo". (Mike would later work more closely with both on future projects.) This put a 30 year career in motion that has had Mike working with the finest actors and actresses, on location all over the world. Mike is an established Makeup Designer and Department Head. He has also been honored with a number of awards including an Academy Award nomination and an Emmy win. His studio "MakeupMedia" creates prosthetics and effects for the entertainment industry.
