LAPD Retired Detective Tammy Thomas: Co-Writer/Technical Advisor for Under Surveillance:
Tammy Thomas is a retired Police Detective with over 27 years of experience with the Los Angeles Police Department. Assignments involved a full range of law enforcement and policy functions, such as patrolling and responding to radio calls involving burglary, theft, assaults, sexual assaults, murder, disturbances and family disputes. Other duties included apprehending violators, pursuits as well as the appropriate reports. After several years in patrol, she was assigned to the police academy were she became the first female instructor for the Emergency Vehicle Operations, training involving pursuit driving, procedures and policies.
After being promoted to Detectives, Detective Thomas specialized in Domestic Violence and Stalking. Later on in her career, she investigated and apprehended suspects involving identity theft and forgery while assigned to Commercial Crimes Division.
Throughout her career she has advised and trained individuals in several areas of police procedures as well as Police funerals as a member of the Honor Guard.
